Daniel

Daniel Srugo

Director, Suzuki Guitar of Ottawa

Daniel Srugo graduated with a diploma in classical guitar from the Conservatory of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition to teaching, he has an active career as both a professional arranger and performer. Daniel has performed extensively in both Argentina and Canada, and enjoys performing traditional Argentinian folk music, sephardic songs, and tangos, in addition to the standard classical guitar repertoire. He has arranged children's songs, background music for musicals, and traditional sephardic music. He has extensive teaching experience, and has undertaken training in Suzuki guitar pedagogy with David Madsen and William Kossler from book 1 to 5. Daniel is trilingual, and can offer private lessons in English, French or Spanish.

Maya Farrell

Guitar Teacher, Suzuki Guitar of Ottawa

Maya Farrell, from Ottawa, has been playing classical guitar for over 15 years. She began her studies at the National Capital Suzuki School of Music, performing for 10 years across Ottawa as a soloist and in ensembles. She recently earned her Bachelor of Music in guitar performance from the University of Ottawa, studying with Patrick Roux. At uOttawa, she received the Ed Honeywell Scholarship twice and participated in festivals like Guitar Alla Grande and Domaine Forget. Maya is now pursuing an Artist Diploma in guitar performance at the Conservatoire de Musique de Gatineau.

She began teaching in 2022 and enjoys helping students grow through both technical and expressive skills. In 2024, she completed Suzuki Unit 1 training with MaryLou Roberts. Maya also studied piano, completing RCM Level 8 in 2019. Outside of music, she enjoys swimming, time with friends, and her golden retriever.
